William Orville Stanley Jr.

 William Orville Stanley, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in Salem, Ohio, on March 31, 1942, he was a proud member of the West Branch High School Class of 1961, where he was part of first graduating class and played football.

Throughout his life, William dedicated himself to both his career as a machinist and his role as a school bus driver. He embodied the spirit of a social butterfly, never meeting a stranger and always welcoming those around him with warmth and kindness.

William found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with family and friends, and his heart was particularly fond of attending tractor pulls and watching westerns, especially the iconic films starring John Wayne. His ability to connect with others and his jovial nature were truly exceptional, leaving a mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He leaves behind his significant other, Nan Schmid, whose presence brought him immeasurable joy. William is survived by his loving siblings: Sue (Delbert) Christian, John (Dee) Stanley, Kathy (Larry) Murphy, Debby Stanley, and Tim (Tammy) Stanley, along with sister-in-law Marsha Stanley. He was a proud father to Sheri Moats, William (Paula) Stanley III, Crystal (Barry) Greathouse, James (Cara) Stanley, Cynthia Wolford, and Edward (Kimberly) Stanley. His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

William's parents, William Orville Stanley, Sr. and Rosenell (Bricker) Stanley, along with his brother Jeffrey Stanley, a nephew, and three grandchildren, have preceded him in death. 

A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Almost Home Event Center located at 230 S 12th St, Sebring, OH. This will be a time to gather, reminisce, and celebrate Bill’s life.
