On April 11, 2025, at approximately 3:45 am, Willard L. Thomas, age 84 of Homeworth, Ohio passed away with his loving family, by his side. Will fought diligently over the last several years from various illnesses.
Will was born on Wednesday, December 18, 1940 in Camron, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Charles and Virginia (Blake) Thomas, and his older brother, Delbert Thomas.
Will spent his early years living in West Virginia and worked as a home delivery driver of fresh milk and later as a coal miner.
He enlisted in the National Guard and served during the Koren Conflict. After he was honorably discharged, he moved to Alliance, Ohio to work at American Steel, where he dedicated 36 years of his life.
On Saturday, July 26, 1975, he married the love of his life, Lorene (Middleton) Thomas. Over the next 49 plus years, they raised their family, consisting of six daughters.
During his career at American Steel, he developed lifelong friendships, including Bill Lancaster, who led Will to Jesus and the life of a Christian. Will was dedicated to God throughout the rest of his life.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and grandson, Kyle Patrick, as well as several brothers and sister in laws.
Survivors include, Lorene, Daughters: Gracie D'Agostino (Larry), and Patty Lewis (Paul Crawford), Missy (Ed) Kennedy, Maggie (Scott) Blake, Jeannie (Bill) Patterson, and Judy (Terry) Grove. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Will had 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, who were ALL the pride of his life. While the world lost a great man, Heaven gained a true Christian. His legacy will always be remembered as a devoted Christian, a great man, and a provider for his family. Humanity could learn so much from what he stood for.
We will miss you Will, and mere words can't describe our loss. He will live on in everyone that he had touched over the years. In Will's famous saying, " See Ya Bud." We love you and until we meet again.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 12:30 pm. Pastor's Bill Lancaster and Eric Crawford will officiate the services. Friends and family may pay their respects from 11 am till 12:30, prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, with full Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Eric, Blaine, Logan Crawford, Cody Blake, and Devin and Aaden Grove.
