Thomas Anson Smith, age 76 passed away at his home Saturday October 6, 2018 surrounded by family.
He was born June 1, 1942 in Kinsman, Ohio to Charles and Margret (Keeler) Smith.
Tom was retired from General Electric after 38 years of service. He loved his cabin in PA.,
also politics, gardening, the outdoors ,spending time with family, especially grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and loved any and all babies.
He was a Paris Twp. trustee for 22 years, Paris twp. fire dept for 9 years, Portage county solid
waste, Policy board for 16 years, Ravenna Arsenal Restoration Committee, Portage County Regina l Planning Commission for 15 years, Portage County Trustee Assoc. for 20 years.
He is survived by his spouse Althea Jean (Noble) Smith.
Daughters; Anne Marie (James) Kohut, Vicki Lynn (Rick) Altamos, Barbara Jean (Bob )Blaney,
Michele Ann Reamensnyder, and Patricia (Keith) Poland.
Sons; Geno (Micki) Matteotti, and Michael (Lisa) Matteotti.
Sisters; Elthie (Art) Logan, Elaine (Bob) Smith-Guirard.
Brothers; Richard (Colleen) Smith, James (Judy) Smith.
Grandchildren; Ashly (Nate) Orr, Kristin (Matt) Stake ,Nick (Olivia) Poland, Hayley Poland, Tiffany (Jake) Allen, Josh (Kellie) Allen, ,Jonathan (Tawny) Allen, Tony Matteotti, Joey Matteotti, Brad Altamos, Amanda (Zack) Brewer, Sydney Matteotti, Kylie Matteotti, Michael Matteotti, Christopher Kohut, and Daniel Kohut
Great grandchildren; Brody Orr, Blake Orr, McKenzie Mercer, Trenton Allen, Silas Allen, William Allen, Brooklyn Allen, Landon Stake, Anson Stake, Allison Stake.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Donna Sealy, and brother Reid Smith.
A funeral service will be held, Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 1 pm; at Wayland Community Church. Rev: Tom Holbrook will be officiating. Friends may call from 11 am till 1 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Hawley Cemetery. Friends and family may register online at www.deansfuneralhome.com.
