Thomas Clarence O'Connor, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, respected member of the Alliance community, passed away on October 19, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center Canton. He was born on April 24, 1944, in, where he would eventually build a life filled with love, family, and service.
A proud veteran, Thomas served in the Marine Corps and later retired from the National Guard. His military service was not just a chapter in his life; it exemplified his dedication and commitment to his country. Following his retirement from military service, he enjoyed a rewarding career at Republic Steel, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and contributed significantly to the community.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Thomas was a man of varied interests and passions. He had an unwavering loyalty to his local sports teams, often found cheering for the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Browns. His love for gardening brought him joy and a sense of peace, while his competitive spirit was evident in his enjoyment of playing cards. Above all, Thomas treasured the time he spent with his family, especially playing Zelda with his grandchildren, Thomas and Robbie.
Thomas is survived by his sister, Cathy (Ed) Gallatin; his son, Richard (Carol) Rich; and his daughters, Tamara (Dan) Dicko, Jayne O'Connor, Donna O'Connor, and Ashley (Jeff) Pace. He was also a proud grandfather to Thomas (Erin) O'Connor, Timothy (Randi) Hendershot, and Samantha (Rob) Goad. As a great-grandfather, he cherished the moments shared with his great-grandchildren, Robbie Goad, Zoey Goad, and Lillie O'Connor.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean O'Connor, who was a constant source of support and companionship throughout their life together. He was also predeceased by his parents, Donald and Jane O'Connor, and his brothers, Michael and Kenneth O'Connor.
Thomas Clarence O'Connor leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to family, along with countless memories that will be cherished by those who knew him. His kind spirit and dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in his life. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring.
