Sylvia Fields

Sylvia R. Fields, age 57, of Lithonia, Georgia, died at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, in the VA Medical Center in Atlanta. She was born June 16, 1958, in Alliance, Ohio, to Hiram Dorsey and Rose S. Terrell Dorsey.

Sylvia was a United States Air Force veteran. She was an avid reader and loved to write poetry. She was a die-hard fan of all Ohio sport teams, especially the Cavs and the Browns. Sylvia loved fashion, especially shoes and jewelry. She was known for her "fierce" walk.

She is survived by her daughters, Kianna Dorsey and Zakiya Hampton; her grandchildren, LaDerrius, JaNeil, SaiLon, Cianna and Zaria; her sisters, Patricia Wright of Georgia, Sandra (Jimmy) Merritt of Canton, Ohio, Sherry Napier of Alliance, Ohio, and Sean Chisholm of Wisconsin; aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hiram Dorsey; mother, Rose Dorsey; brother, Hiram (Babe) Dorsey; and granddaughter, Teondra N. Dorsey.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 2016, at Anointed Foundation Church of God in Christ.
