Scott “Gibby” Lee Gibbons, 66, of Alliance, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1958, in Alliance, to the late Gordon and Janet Gibbons. He was a lifelong resident of the Alliance area and an avid Ohio sports fan, but nothing compared to the Browns. Win or lose, he watched every football game and was always at home cheering them on. Scott worked for over 20 years for SDS Earthmoving, operating real life “Tonka” trucks, building landfills and various earthmoving projects. He enjoyed spending time hanging out at home in his bar and grill, “Gibby’s Bar & Grill,” playing horseshoes or cornhole, dice, and grilling on his charcoal grill. Scott also loved hunting with his family and friends, and his eldest son, Matthew, down at the Farm (Uncle Steve’s). His love of sports, especially baseball, was passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patty, his two daughters, Danielle (Dan) Castellucci and Kayla (Steven) Stalbosky, and two sons, Matthew (Ashley) Gibbons and Jacob Gibbons. He adored and loved his 7 grandbabies, Madilyn (12), Riley (10), Olivia (8), Deacon (7), Piper (6), Steven III (3), and Autumn (2). Scott also leaves behind three sisters, Cathy (Ron) McKibben, Lori Wilson, and Julie (Guy) Takamori, and two brothers, Tim Gibbons and Eric (Shelly) Gibbons, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, several brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
