Sandra M. Jenkins, born on August 14, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Vincent C. Schulz and Virginia Schulz Fankhauser, has passed away.

A proud graduate of Canfield High School, Class of 1959, Sandy dedicated many years to raising her family as a stay-at-home mother. Once her children were grown, she reentered the workforce, lending her talents to Aultman Hospital, Electronic Engineering, American Greetings, and Kaiser Permanente, where she served as a communications specialist.

On Valentine’s Day in 1986, Sandy married the love of her life, Venton “Sonny” Jenkins. They shared a wonderful life together, filled with love and adventure, until his passing in February 2019.

Sandy was a talented cook and baker, always filling her home with warm and delicious meals. She had a passion for quilting and gardening, creating beauty with both needle and soil. She and Sonny shared a love for attending auctions and traveling together in his semi, making cherished memories on the road.

Sandy leaves behind her beloved children: Warner (Laura) Lawson, Robin (Kenny) Dreese, Ric Zimmermann, and Kyle Zimmermann. She is also survived by her brother Ric (Carol) Fankhauser, brother-in-law Terry Cloonan, and sisters Judy (Hal) Walker and Mary Jane (David) Sciortino. She was a loving grandmother to Kasey, Adam, Bryce, Samantha, Tyler, Amanda, Erin, Marisa, Brianna, Ryan, and Zack, as well as a proud great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by her cousin and dedicated caregiver, Joe (Debbie) Mound, and her beloved dog, Penny.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Jenkins; her parents, Vincent and Virginia; her stepfather, Will Fankhauser; her son, Jeffrey Zimmermann; daughter-in-law, Denise Zimmermann; brothers Terry (Loretta) Schulz and Ron Fankhauser; and sister Lynn (Dan) Yost.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and loving nature will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
