Alliance:
Russell J. Early, age 88 passed away on January 15, 2020 at Community Care Center of Alliance. He was born in Alliance, Ohio to the late Russell and Flora (Workman) Early on April 10, 1931.
Russell was a 1949 graduate of Sebring High School before he proudly served in the United States Army. He was assigned to the artillery unit during WWII and Korea Conflict. He was an active member of the American Legion where he served as Post Commander of Legion # 166, and VFW #1036. He was a member of the "40 and 8" club. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his brothers and sister of the American Legion and VFW. He also enjoyed bowling, genealogy, but most of all spending quality family time. He worked as a design engineer at Alliance Machine and Morgan Engineering. He was known to frequent Canada for fishing trips.
Russell is survived by his daughter: Christie Early. Son: Russell (Dorothy) Early. Brother: Ray Early. Grandchildren: Kimberly Davis, Jennifer Early, Robert Custar, Sharon Dye, Rose Sisk, Chuck Custar, and Russell Custar. 13 great- grandchildren, 16 great -great grandchildren and special friend Betty Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His wife of 53 years Beverly (Swan) Early. Brother: Glen Early. Step-son: Robert Custar. The family would like to thank Alliance Community Care and Alliance Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion. Per his request cremation has taken place and his burial will take place Wednesday January 29, 2020 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 11am with full military honors.
