Rosario Giuseppe Corallo age 84 passed away on Wednesday April 19th, 2023, at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 19, 1939, in Tripoli, Libya to Giovanna (Tumino) and Rosario Corallo. He immigrated from Ragusa, Sicily to New York City at the age of 22.
Rosario was an expert tailor and pattern maker having earned many honors and certifications in his trade. He was employed and in high demand from notable retailers like Brooks Brothers and Hart Schaffner Marx.
Rosario had the highest regard and love for his wife, children, daughters-in-laws, grandchildren, family and friends. He had several hobbies and interests. He loved gardening, cooking and baking. He was an avid fan of soccer (Serie-A/Juventus, World Cup) and ice hockey (lifelong New York Rangers fan). He enjoyed playing cards and lottery games. He was a lover of animals, especially dogs and birds. Rosario instilled a strong work ethic in his sons by leading by example. He was loved by all that knew him because of his friendliness, joking demeanor and love of all people.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Angella Marie (LaTessa), his son Marco Rosario (m. Janelle Ann Herr), his son David Joseph (m. Michelle Lynn Micco), grandchildren Jude Anthony, Adam Mathew, Amelia Marie, Giancarlo David and Nico Joseph of Salem Ohio, his sister Connie Tempesta and niece Sabrina.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10 am; St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Weikart as celebrant. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 6- 8 pm at Dean's Funeral Home.
