Robert "Bob" Lippiatt

June 3, 1947 — June 18, 2020

Robert  T. Lippiatt, age 73 passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 after a brief hospitalization.  He was born June 3, 1947 to the late Clarence (Ike) and Eleanor (Doyle) Lippiatt. The likeable driver/trainer followed his Father, Ike into the horse business over  50 years ago after graduating from Salem High School. Bob also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of various horse organizations including The United States Trotting Association, Ohio Horseman's Association and  Canfield Harness Horse  Association. He was very successful in his career and was deeply devoted to his horses and the meticulous care of racetracks. He worked on the track crew in Pompano Park in Florida during the winter as he and his wife maintained a dual residency in Pompano Beach, Florida during the winters. Bob was greatly devoted to his family and especially enjoyed time with his Grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family as well as his horseman family. He is survived by his wife Sherry (Collins) Lippiatt of 51 years. They were married May 31, 1969. His Daughters;  Theresa (James) Hahn, Bobbi Jo (Jamie) Lovejoy. His Grandchildren; Raquel, Justin, Mikayla, Bailey, Hunter, and Bella. His Great Grandchildren; Rowan and Theia. Brothers;  Richard (Nancy) , Paul (Barb),  and Rick (LuAnn).His Brother-in-law;  Ray (Dusty) Collins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and a Brother Gary who died at a young age in a horse related accident.

Funeral service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at Dean's Funeral Home at 12pm.  Friends and family will be received prior to the service from 11am to 12pm at the Funeral Home.
