Robert J. Curtis II, age 81, passed away October 5, 2021 at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital. He was born November 25, 1939 to the late Robert J and Helen (Kimmel) Curtis. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sue Curtis. They married June 12, 1965. He was a 1957 graduate of Sharon High School. He then graduated from State College, now known as Slippery Rock University. He touched lives as an educator for 36 years in various roles in Pennsylvania. He held multiple capacities ranging from teacher, supervisor, athletic director and coaching. He started the varsity wresting program in the 1960's. He served 12 years in Sharpsville School District. 24 years in the Mercer School District. In the Mercer School District, he served as Assistant Principal, Curriculum Director, Activities Director, Athletic Director. He served as Executive Secretary of the Mercer County Athletic Conference. He retired in 1997 and they spent their winters in Florida until he moved to Copeland Oaks with his wife in Sebring, Ohio. Robert was a very active member of many organizations. He was a member of Hickory Methodist Church in Hermitage for over 50 years. Robert was a member of NEA, PSEA, Sharpsville Education Association, Mercer Education Association, Sharpesville Lodge 517, Valley of New Castle Consistory, Elbika Grotto, and Sharon Elks Lodge #103, for over 50 years and the Shenango Valley Antique Automobile Club. He will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
