Richard (Dick) L. Haynam, age 84, born in and life-long resident of Alliance/Louisville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 30th, 2022, in Canterbury Villa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Evelyn Haynam, and recently, his eldest brother Eugene Haynam. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Clayton) Haynam, children, Denise (Haynam) Welch, Dan (Amy) Haynam, grandchildren, Stephanie Murphy, Daniel Welch, Emily (Jason) McCallister, Nathan Haynam, Laura Koniecko, Nick, and Kayla Sokol, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Jerry Haynam, and sisters, Sandy (Dave) Kennedy, Charlene Beltz, as well as many other treasured family members. Richard was a 1955 graduate of Louisville High School. He was Veteran of The United States Army, serving over-seas in Germany and Italy for the duration of his active service. The pride he had in being a Veteran and a Louisville Leopard remained for the duration of his life. He was also a retired foreman with Alliance machine and a retired machinist with S.E.S. He was a long-time member of The Elks Lodge #467. Richard loved jitterbugging with his wife, hunting, fishing, golfing, telling stories, camping at the Pennsylvania cabin with his buddies, watching his children/grandchildren participate in their activities/sports, attending community events, and watching local bands play at festivals. In the 80's he enjoyed driving the instrument bus for the Marching Dukes of Marlington. Using his talent and his workshop he could fix it, put it together or build it. Richard was adamant about a perfectly manicured lawn and would help maintain the Barcus Acres park. He was devoted to his family and selfless is an understatement. His integrity was unmatched. Richard was always there to lend any neighbor a helping hand. He had a significant amount of wit and could make anybody smile while singing "You are my sunshine" or calm any crying grandbaby with his version of "Michael row your boat ashore". We want to thank St. Elizabeth's of Youngstown, Canterbury Villa of Alliance, and Dean's Funeral Home for all the care they provided Richard. Richards life was rich in family, friends and love. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. We invite you to celebrate his life with a memorial service, to be held at Beechwood Methodist Church at 3450 Beechwood Ave., Alliance, Ohio , on Saturday, February 26th.
