Richard Blake

Alliance; Richard Blake, age 76 passed away at his home July 13, 2016 following a long illness. He was born in Cameron, West Va. June 5, 1940 to Harry Blake and Nellie (Gilbert) Blake. Richard worked as supervisor at Queen's China, as press operator at Transue and Williams, and grounds keeper at Marlboro cemetery. He was a faithful member of Science Hill Community Church. He had a passion for Indian History, and loved gardening and his many water fountains. Richard was a very loving family man, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Clara Blake of the home. Daughter; Kimberly Kent of Alliance. Sisters; Kate (Herb) Lang of North Canton, Geneva Mc Clure of Alliance, Barbara Payton of Texas, and Mary Vogel of Canton. Brother; Allen Blake of Sebring. Grandchildren; Sarah Burtnett of Salem, Stacy Kent of Alliance, and Diedre Kent of Akron. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Blake, and brothers Walter, Norm, Verney, and Alfred. A Memorial Service will be held Monday July 18, 2016 at 12 p.m. (noon) at Science Hill Community Church with Pastor Jon Truax officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 11 a.m. to noon, or sign the guest book at www.deansfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Science Hill Community Church or Alliance Visiting Nurses. Arrangements by Dean's Funeral Home, Sebring.
