Raymond Powell

Raymond L. Powell, 77, of Alliance, Ohio passed away May 18, with his family by his side. He was born to

the late Walter and Bernice (Knoedler) Powell on August 20, 1940. Ray graduated from Goshen High

School in 1958 and then served in the US Navy. He married Marjorie Mangus and worked as a sales

manager for Harvestore, co-owned Powell’s Gift Shoppe and was a loan officer for Ameristate Bancorp

before retiring in 2010. He loved watching sports, especially his sons and later, his grandchildren. He was

an avid golfer and was in golf leagues locally and in St. Cloud, Florida where he and Marjorie spent their

winters. He was preceded in death by siblings Janice Martig and Betty Kibler, and survived by brothers

Richard and Jerry and sisters Marylou Cope and Cathie Elliott. He will be deeply missed by his sons and

their wives, Brett and Lisa, Kevin and Kathy, and Troy and Jana. He is also survived by grandchildren

Justin, Erin (Lucas) Hastings, Dana (Jason) Jordan, Tyler, Carrie, Hunter, Brock, Jake and Meredith.

Arrangements have been made at Dean’s Funeral Home in Sebring, Oh. Visitations are May 31, from 5-6

PM, followed immediately by memorial service by Rev. Russ Libb. Memorial donations may be made to

Hospice of Canton.
