It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul F. Tilton, who departed this world on March 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Paul, a devoted family man and a stalwart member of his community, was born on July 2, 1946. He lived a life characterized by service, dedication, and love for his family and friends.
Paul proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a commitment that laid the foundation for the values he held dear throughout his life. In addition to his military service, he volunteered as a firefighter with the East Liverpool Fire Department, showcasing his unwavering desire to help others.
A graduate of East Liverpool High School, Paul was not only respected for his work ethic but also for his remarkable sense of humor that could light up any room. He had a special love for the outdoors, and found joy in gardening, which he combined with his skills as a carpenter to create beautiful, welcoming spaces for family gatherings.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life, as he attended Pleasant Hill Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church and cherished studying the Bible. Paul’s musical talents shone through when he played the organ, adding a touch of harmony to many occasions shared with loved ones.
Paul is survived by his beloved children: Tammy Renee Tilton Goldberg (Gene), April (David) Large, and Aaron Tilton. He took immense pride in his role as a father and grandparent, and is also remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Cassandra, Elijah, Joshua, Alexa, Emma, and Ivy, who brought him endless joy and made his heart swell with love.
He leaves behind his siblings, Gayle Price, James (Ethel) Tilton, John (Leanna) Tilton, and Donald Tilton, who were part of his life’s journey filled with shared memories and laughter.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Gail Tilton and Marjorie Cole-Tilton, whose influence shaped the man he became. He is also reunited in spirit with his beloved daughter, Crystal Sigmon, and his cherished sisters, Martha Calfee and Diane Chafins, who will be waiting to greet him.
The legacy of Paul F. Tilton is one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family and community. His life serves as a reminder of the profound impact a single life can have on many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
