ALLIANCE; O n the early morning of Thursday, April 23, 2015 Paul Harrison Montgomery went to sleep and woke up in glory to see his Savior face to face. Paul loved the Lord Jesus and gave his testimony whenever the opportunity presented itself. Born in Akron, Ohio October 10, 1934. He was the son of Emory Montgomery and Lucy Hershman Montgomery. He attended Springfield High School in Akron. He lived most of his life on the west coast. He retired from the military after 21 years of service. He was in the navy for five years and the coast guard for 17 years. Paul moved to Alliance with his wife, Joy, 15 years ago. He loved his church family, especially the children. He loved studying the Bible and communing with God. He enjoyed painting and had a great love for animals. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Joy (Meyer) Montgomery, four children, Michael Harris, Paul Harris, and Lori Harris of Oklahoma, and Kathy (John) Pickler of Bremerton, Washington and six grandchildren. His stepsons, Christopher Chalker of Texas, Robert (Lisa) O'Connor of Elyria, Ohio, Wesley O'Connor of Tokyo, Japan, and step daughter, Anne (Frank) Ferarro of Canton and brother-in-law Gary Phillips of West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his father, Emory Montgomery, mother Lucy Hershman Montgomery and brothers, Waithman Montgomery, George Montgomery, Lowell Montgomery and sister Loretta Phillips and step- son Philip O'Connor. Paul was lifetime member of DAV Chapter #50, Alliance. He was also a longtime member of TOPS, Ohio Chapter. Calling hours will be held April 30,2015 from 12 to 2pm at Dean's funeral Home in Sebring. Funeral will be held following the calling hours at 2pm. A military burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls on May 01,2015 at 1pm.
