Margaret A. DeBolt, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, "Old Grandma." departed this world on December 4, 2024, at the age of 74 in her beloved home state of Ohio. Born on October 20, 1950, in Atwater, Ohio, she forged a life rich in love, craft, and connection. An avid seamstress whose creative hands were always busy, Margaret delighted in quilting, woodworking, and various crafty projects that warmed the homes and hearts of her family and friends. She demonstrated a steadfast dedication to her passions, embodying a spirit that embraced the joy of creation, whether in stitched patterns or lovingly crafted woodworks.
Margaret's vibrant personality resonated with those fortunate enough to know her; she loved everyone and poured her heart into her family ties, eagerly celebrating the colorful wonders of life, especially in hues of blue. A proud graduate of Alliance High School, she carried the lessons of her youth into a lifetime of endeavors, including the notable accomplishment of obtaining her commercial driver’s license to operate the Alliance City Taxi, a testament to her determination and ambition.
Margaret's profound love for her daughter, Colleen Dickson, transcended the bounds of conventional motherhood; they shared a bond that blossomed into a true friendship. This unique relationship served as a cornerstone in Margaret’s life, enriching both their journeys filled with laughter, support, and countless memories.
The joys of her life extended into the next generation, with the blessing of several stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through Racheal Moore, her granddaughter, and grandson Austin Armbrust, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kendle, Melody, Ayden, Jacqueline, and Camron, who fondly recall afternoons spent picking berries, racing pigeons, and casting lines by the water's edge—simple yet treasured moments that showcase her nurturing spirit.
Margaret is survived by her loving family, which includes her daughter Colleen, several stepchildren, and her grandchildren Racheal and Austin, along with her great-grandchildren. She leaves behind the joyful memories shared with her aviary babies Amanda, Jake, Mikey, and Toni, who provided boundless happiness. Additionally, she is remembered by her stepbrothers, Johnny and David, and a multitude of nieces and nephews whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Floyd J. Hendershot and Betty L. (Morrison) Hendershot, and her brothers Floyd, Dean, and Larry Hendershot, who wait for her in eternal peace.
Margaret's life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and laughter. In recognition of her life well lived, visitation services will be held at Dean's Funeral Home in Sebring, Ohio, on December 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a burial service at Atwater Cemetery on December 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable journey, we honor the indelible mark she leaves on our lives and the love that will forever resonate in our hearts.
