Salem: Kendal Jean ( Mercer) Dowling, age 62, passed away on September 1, 2016 at Salem Regional Hospital. She resided at Blossom Nursing Home in Salem and was formerly of Sebring. She was born October 3, 1953 to Kenneth and Beverly ( Durr) Wayt. Kendal was a longtime resident of Sebring and enjoyed playing cards with her "girls", taking vacations and caring for children and living life to the fullest. After moving to Columbus in 2005, she attended The Ohio State University where she obtained her dental hygienist license. She then became the office manager for Dr. Jerry Chess of Columbus, where she retired from. Kendal had many enjoyments in life. She was an artist. She enjoyed shopping and her cats. But, most of her enjoyment was spent with her pride and joy came from being a grandmother, "MeMe " to her beloved Karma Jade Flowers. She took her on many vacations and created a bond that could never be broken. Kendal received Jesus Christ as her savior in 2012. She attended Sebring Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her loving ex- husband, Chuck Mercer. Son: Steve and (Kelli) Mercer of Salem. Daughter: Whitney Mercer of Sebring. Grandchildren: Kharma Flowers and Olivia Leach. Uncle John and Jan Durr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Steven Wayt. Visitations will be held on Thursday, September 8,2016 at Dean's Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio. from 5 till 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 7pm.
