John H Carson III passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on June 12, 1957, to John H. Carson Jr. and Beverly (Bryne) Carson. John was a loving husband, adoring father, proud grandfather, and devoted friend.

John had a wonderful childhood. His father, John H. Carson Jr., had been mayor of the City of Kent from 1966-1969, pharmacist, and owner of the drug store W.H. Donag. His mother, Beverly (Bryne) Carson was an endearing woman, a talented seamstress, and enjoyed writing poetry. John spent many days working the cash register at the family store and playing shoeless on the streets of downtown Kent, Ohio.

John dedicated a large part of his life to his career as a copier-computer repairman. He understood technology beyond his time and became the proud owner and operator of his business, Mr. Gizmo.

John joined the military service originally to attract women and this experience ultimately played an important role in shaping his character. He served his country as an enlisted Sailor of the Navy and excelled in his examinations.

John possessed an incredible talent for fixing and growing things. He spent much of his free time when he retired tinkering and fixing computers. He was also known as a great gardener, he could raise nearly anything from seed. John's skill and knowledge amazed those around him.

John had many enjoyments in life.  He loved music, more specifically, classic rock.   If he had a favorite band, it was The Beatles.  Some of John’s happiest moments were spent dancing to good music with good friends.   When letting loose he often enjoyed the finest grass.

John cared for many animals over his lifetime. He had a unique way with cats, he seemed to understand and communicate with them on another level. For 29 years, he was devoted to his capuchin monkey, Gadget. There was a special bond between John and Gadget, like father and son.

John was one of the most passionate people you would meet in your life.  He valued his family and friends to the utmost and had a way of making them feel so loved every time they met. Nothing brought him more joy than seeing them happy and thriving. He cherished every moment spent with them.

On January 1, 2000, John married the love of his life, Michele (Champion) Carson. Their union was filled with love and companionship, creating a beautiful bond that lasted 24 years. Their marriage was a testament to the enduring power of love and dedication.
