Beloit:

James (Jim) Duane Rice Jr., age 84, of Beloit, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born in Leetonia, Ohio on November 16, 1933.  Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years Karen Rice; his five children, David (Barbara) Rice, Teri (Steve) Sanor, Debra (Paul) Borton, Kathy (Jim) Pahanish, and Mark (Vicki) Rice; three stepchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Stock, Jonathan (Jacqueline) Stock, and Melinda (Jerrid) Bailey; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Paul (Mary) Rice and a sister Donna Brubaker. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ethel (Benner) Rice and his grandsons Bryan Sanor and David Altman.

In addition to the unconditional love of his family, Jim possessed a strong work ethic. Most of his life he was self-employed as the owner of Rice Meat Processing, Whistle Stop Pizza, and Henry’s Drive In. In retirement he worked 15 years at Alliance Walmart.

A memorial service will be held on March 30, 2018 at 4pm at the West Branch Athletic Building, 26701 St Rt 62, Beloit, Ohio 44609. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Beloit Fire Department, 17893 5th Street, Beloit, Ohio 44609.
