James Martin

James Henry Martin (Aka Country cool) age 77 of Alliance, went home to be with the lord on May 21st 2023.

He was born on March 10th 1946 to Henry and Annie Lee (Napkin) Martin

James worked as a steel factory worker all his life where he later retired.

James was a quiet, simple man who loved to give nicknames to the family.

His hobbies were fishing, playing the lottery and traveling back to Chicago to see family.

Those left to cherish his memory are three sons Vernon "Butch" Martin Sr. (Glovena), Parrish "Squirmy" Martin Sr. And Christopher "Frisco" Martin Sr. Four sisters Mary "Duchess" Martin, Joanne (Martin) Jackson, Beverly "Pancake" Martin and Jacqueline Martin. 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A special cousin Shadrach "June" Newman. Although separated and remained friends, the love of his life, the mother of his children Cynthia Hawkins, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Fred Martin, Joe Nathan Martin and his baby girl Marnita Latrice Martin.

James was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

A funeral service will be held at Second Baptist Church in Alliance on June 3rd at 12:00pm with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at the Alliance City Cemetary.
