James W. Dyke, affectionately known as Jim, was born on June 17, 1973, in Alliance, Ohio to Ruth and Joe Dyke. Tragically, he passed away unexpectedly at Aultman Alliance Hospital on December 31, 2024. Jim’s life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends.
Following his graduation from West Branch High School, Jim pursued a Masters in Criminal Justice. He dedicated his career to the field of security, a testament to his desire to protect those around him. Jim's professional life was marked by integrity and a strong work ethic, but it was the roles he cherished most that defined him—those of a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
Jim is survived by his mother, Ruth. For 28 beautiful years, Jim was the devoted husband of Missy, with whom he built a life filled with laughter and shared dreams. Together, they nurtured two wonderful children, Dylan and Hannah, who were the light of his life. As a father, Jim was their unwavering supporter. Jim especially enjoyed sports—a pastime he loved passionately. He also cherished his relationship with Liym who was like one of his own children.
Jim was not just a family man; he was also a loyal friend. His life-long bond with best friend Steve Foster, anchored over 33 years, enriched his days and brought immeasurable joy. Steve, along with a circle of family that encompassed brothers and sisters Deb, Shelly, Rod, John (Dawn), Mike (Theresa), Joey (Carol), Sandy, and Patty (Jim) Voyter, helped shape Jim into the beloved person he was. He cherished his role as an uncle, doting on several nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, sharing with them the warmth and kindness that was characteristic of his gentle spirit.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joe Dyke, brothers Bob and Donnie Dyke, and brothers-in-law Les McMillian and Randy Bowlin. He is also mourned by his late nephew, Jamie Dyke. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
The legacy Jim leaves behind is profound. His family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a graveside service scheduled for January 10, 2025, at Mt. Union Cemetery in Alliance, Ohio. As they come together to remember a man whose heart was as big as his laugh, they will carry forward the lessons of love, loyalty, and the importance of family that he imparted so generously throughout his life. James W. Dyke will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever resonate in the lives he touched. A graveside service in the chapel of Mount Union Cemetery will take place Friday January 10th at 1pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
