**In Loving Memory of James W. Cook (Jim)**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James W. Cook, affectionately known as Jim, who left us peacefully at his home on April 10, 2025. Born on February 4, 1940, to the late Walt Cook and Thelma Burger Sayer, Jim lived a life filled with, dedication, and service to his community.
For 65 years, Jim proudly owned Ohio Ave Garage, where he poured his heart into every interaction with friends and customers alike. His commitment to his craft and unwavering support for those around him were a testament to his character. Additionally, Jim served the Sebring Fire Department with honor for 17 years, exemplifying his dedication to the safety and well-being of others.
Jim shared a remarkable journey in life with his beloved wife of 64 years, Irene, whom he married on October 31, 1960. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing three wonderful children: Patti (Paul) Butler, Doug (Jennifer Gannon) Cook, and Amy (Bob) McIlvain.
His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Stephanie (Josh) Lentz, Jennifer (Josh Wartluft) Cook, Jamee (Mike) Philibin, Tyler (Taylor) McIlvain, Katy (Wyatt Lieberth) Butler, Megan (Mike) Pfaff, and Jake (Jules) Cook. Jim also found immense joy in his role as a great-grandfather, leaving a lasting impression on Ally, Addasyn, Elliot, Lucas, Adam, and Kennedy.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, with a visitation from 3 to 5 PM at Almost Home. In honor of his spirit and compassion, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Patriot Hospice, Warren, OH.
Jim’s legacy of kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his memory will always be celebrated.
