Alliance:
Gary A. Shoffner age 74 of Alliance, passed away on Thursday August 26, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born in alliance, Ohio on September 13, 1946 to harry D. and Bernice B. (Dinger) Shoffner. He was an Alliance High School graduate. After graduation, Gary proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict, where he was a recipient of the purple heart.
He was employed at Elgers in Salem for many years and in his later years, he had a rural route delivering papers for the Alliance Review. Gary enjoyed going to Mount Union College to watch the football games, going to the track in West Virginia, and taking care of his beloved pets, especially his dogs of which he had many over the years.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Robert Shoffner, Paul Shoffner, and Harry M. (Ann) Shoffner and sisters; Arlene (Kieran) Ruffier and June (Bob) Loomis and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include Ronald E. Shoffner and William B. (Judy) Shoffner and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Visitation will take place Wednesday September 1, 2021 from 10am-11am at Dean's Funeral Home, 256 W. Ohio Avenue Sebring, Ohio , followed by a graveside service with military honors at Mt. Union Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thank you to Alliance Hospice for all their support during this time.
