Frank E Shefelton

Frank E Shefelton, 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep entering the presence of his precious Lord and Savior whom he loved and served since he was a teenager and found forgiveness of sins through Jesus. 

Frank’s priorities were loving the Lord more than anything and sharing how good God had been to him. He found it a privilege to pray for and with others. After his love for the Lord was his precious family, he was so proud of each and everyone. Frank was an active member of Gideons International where he enjoyed passing out Bibles and a member of Sebring First Church of the Nazarene. 

Frank was born on June 3rd, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Guy and Bambi Shefelton. Along with his parents Frank was preceded in death by his first loving wife Patricia Shefelton who he spent 59 years and 8 months with; his brother Robert Shefelton Sr, and his sweet daughter in law Shari Shefelton. 

Frank was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his second loving wife of almost 6 years Marlene Rhome Shefelton; his two sons and daughter, Rick and Judy Shefelton, Russ Shefelton, and Connie and Scott Jackson; beloved grandchildren Rachel and Seth Lackey, Dr Marc and Kim Shefelton, Seth and Sarah Jackson, Abigail and Jacob Trujillo, Rebecca and Jonah Bailey, Lilliana Jackson, and Samuel Jackson; and four great grandchildren Gabriel and Juniper Jackson, Peter Shefelton, and Mateo Trujillo. Frank is also survived by 5 step children including Mike Rhome who was very special to Frank and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Frank worked for 21 years at Transue and Williams, then 20 years for American General Insurance, and 22 years at his favorite job at Clem Lumber where he worked until he was in his 80s. Frank enjoyed working and always had some type of project going. He didn’t like to have nothing to do. 

A memorial service will be held at Sebring First Church of the Nazarene at 6 pm on Thursday February 6, 2025 with calling hours from 4p-6p. Friends and family are all welcome. His grandson Marc will be doing the service. The family wants to extend their heart felt thank you to CCF Mercy Medical Center home care and physical therapy especially Frank’s favorite nurse Jessica and physical therapists Angela and Derek. Anyone wishing to make a contribution the family is requesting it would go to Gideons International or Sebring Nazarene in Frank’s memory.
