Finn Miller
March 2015 – December 16, 2024
Finn (aka Finny, Finster, Chick, Chicky, Finn Binny, etc.), age 9, of Sebring, Ohio peacefully passed away on December 16, 2024.
Finn was an ornery and curious soul who came to find his family by being a peeping Tom. Literally, peeping in the door and longing to be part of the Miller family. Feeling sorry for the fellow, the Millers made friends and tried to find out where he came from. Turns out, he was the neighbor’s cat – but the neighbor didn’t want to care for him, even naming him Nuisance. Once the Millers realized he needed a loving home, they took him in. But he needed a new name! It just so happened that the Millers had just seen Star Wars” The Force Awakensand loved the character of Finn (FN-2187). And it seemed appropriate since the cat was escaping the Evil Empire (The First Order) just like his namesake, to team up with the Millers and the Resistance!!
Finn was a loving member of the Miller family – and the biggest troublemaker. Finn loved to “steal” items and hide them from his parents – who once spent and hour looking for a bag of rice, they knew they bought at the store, only to find it under the couch. Finn was famous at the Vet for being super spicy – but he was all growl and no bite. The ever-curious kitty was Mr. Nosey and had to be in on the action, whatever it was. Once, a plumber was doing work in the basement of the Miller home and whenthe plumber was done, he commented that he had been dropping empty tape rolls on the floor and one by one, Finn was taking them. Finn was obsessed with the basement, he would sneak down whenever he could, only to come up hours later with cobwebs all over him.
Anyone who visited the Miller home got to meet Finn; he always had a greeting. He would also let you know when you overstayed your welcome, by telling you it was time to leave with a swat and a hiss. But at his core, he was sweet and showed enormous affection to his parents who had to use a bungie cord on the door of their bedroom because he learned how to unlatch and open it and would pounce on them in the middle of the night wanting cuddles.
Finn is survived by his parents Chris and Kim Miller, brothers Bucky and Mr. Tibbs; a sister, Cookie; and many loving friends and family. He was proceeded in death by his pal Mr. Peepers, his paternal grandparents, Ralph “Fuzzy” and Janice Miller and his Step-Grandfather, Paul Beane. Finn was the sweetest and orneriest boy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Finn will be cremated and will join Mr. Peepers in a place of honor at his parents’ home and they will continue to love him for eternity. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to:
