One of Mantua's favorite sons, Donald James Kramer, died on January 17 2025 at the age of 67 battling cancer while at home in hospice care surrounded by those who he loved.
Donald is survived by his wife Lisa; his son Heath, granddaughter Madelyn; Niece Stefanie (her husband Aaron); his brother Ron(his wife Sherry), nieces and nephews Shelly, Christina, Stephen, Shawn, and Ryan. He is predeceased by his sister Beverly (her husband Jim) nieces and nephews Stephanie, Bret and Brandy.
Donald was born in Ravenna Ohio August 7, 1957 along with his "older" twin brother Ron which is disputable depending on which brother you ask... His parents Stephen and Lorene raised Bev, Ron and Don in Mantua Ohio and all three graduated from Crestwood High school.
Donald was part of the Crestwood wrestling state championship team in 1976. After high school he worked at Kent State University where he retired and then worked at Nestle incorporated as a boiler operator/plumber.
On November 7, 1987 he married Lisa Koslosky. They resided in Mantua ohio.
Donald was a devoted husband and father. He was also a wrestling coach/founding father of the Mantua youth wrestling program, Crestwood middle school wrestling head coach and Ravenna high school assistant wrestling coach which inspired many young men to pursue the sport. A very unselfish man of upstanding character, he would always put his family and friends first. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
"Death had to take Donald while he was sleeping, for if he had been awake, there would have been a fight"
