David McCune, of Beloit, passed away suddenly at his home on February 18, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Mary Teresa Jordan and Francis Louis McCune.
Throughout his life, David was known for his passion for cars, hot wheels, model cars, puzzles, and steam engines. His love for these hobbies extended to spending quality time with his grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
David leaves behind a legacy of hard work and commitment during his tenure as a 1714 Union Representative at General Motors Lordstown. His advocacy for others within the industry will be deeply missed by colleagues and friends alike.
He is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia Hamilton McCune, daughter Crystal McCune of Akron, son David McCune II (Michelle) of Toledo, grandsons David McCune III and Nathan McCune of Toledo, as well as his siblings: brothers Ed Shelar of Texas and William Shelar of California, and sister Susan Sourjohn of Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Sister; Joyce Halfhill and her husband Jim.
The visitation for David McCune will be held on February 23, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dean's Funeral Home in Sebring. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 PM. The burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield following the funeral service.
David will be remembered with love and respect for his dedication to his work, his hobbies that brought him joy, and most importantly for the love he shared with his family. May he rest in peace. Until we are together again. Arrangements are entrusted to Dean's Funeral Home Sebring, Ohio.
