David Abney

David E. Abney, age 83, passed away April 16, 2023, with his loving family at his side. He was born December 28, 1939, to the late Eugene and Lillian (Kean) Abney.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Devine Abney. He later had a companion in Florida Shirley Rininger who also preceded him in death and a brother, William Abney.  He is survived by his two daughters Laurie Springer, Theresa Scarpitti, Grandchildren, Mike (Tracy) Springer, Matt (Natalie) Springer, Erica Scarpitti, great-grandchildren, Evan, Karli, Jack, and Luke Springer. David was a Sergeant for the Sebring Police Department and a retired Alliance Police Officer. He was a member of the Alliance Fraternal Order of Police, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Fort Myers Coffee Club. He enjoyed historic cars, attending car shows, and boating. His greatest enjoyment came from his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in his honor to Aultman Alliance Hospice or Crandall Medical Center The family is appreciative of the care they provided. Per his request private services will be held.
