Charles James Stroup, age 93, passed away Sunday July 9, 2023. Charles was born on July 15, 1929 in North Jackson, Ohio. He grew up as a farmer in North Jackson. WHWhenen he was 19 years old, Charles married Dorothy Gilmer on December 7, 1948, after which they moved to Lake Milton. They were married for 72 years and had 4 children. Charles drove semi-truck for years. Later on, his wife joined him as co-driver and they drove across the country for many years before they decided to retire. Living by the lake gave him the opportunity to enjoy water skiing, boating, fishing, and golfing with his wife, family, and friends. He was always there for his family and was a loving father and grandfather. He will be truly missed.

Charles is reunited with his loving wife, Dorothy Gilmer Stroup. He is also preceded in death by his son, Charles James Stroup Jr, grandson, Eric James Amodio, parents, John Elmer (Della) Witherstine Stroup, siblings, Clarence, Marion, Vernon, Walter, Ruth Oblinger, Don Stroup and daughter-in0law, Belinda Stroup.

Charles is survived by sons, Robert and Rodney Stroup, and a daughter, Regina Stroup Amodio Stevens. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Michele (Richard) Spencer, Melissa (Tom) Loyen, Robert Stroup Jr, Peter (Roslynn) Amodio Jr, Rodney (Angela) Stroup Jr, and Cindy (Jason) Brew- as well as great grandchildren, Kyle Stroup, Britney (Tirrell) Truitt, Briana (Marcus) Addison, Jasmine and Jules Loyen, Jenna and Lauren Amodio, Valerie Stroup, Kali Sebastian, Ralph Bloom, and Fritzy Brew. He is also survived by great-great grandchildren Isaac Stroup and Annabella Truitt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
