Sebring:
Charles F. Lazear, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated family man, entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2024, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Born on March 2, 1953, in Alliance, Ohio, Charles filled the lives of many with warmth, kindness, and unwavering support throughout his time on Earth.
A proud graduate of Sebring High School, Charles dedicated many years to serving his community as an EMT with the Beloit Fire Department. His selflessness and commitment to helping others extended further, as he also took on the role of a bus driver for West Branch Schools, ensuring that children arrived safely to their destinations. He cherished the friendships he formed in these roles, earning the respect and affection of those around him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Charles had myriad interests that brought him joy. He was an avid model train enthusiast, passionately crafting intricate displays that captivated both young and old alike. As an amateur radio operator, he connected with individuals near and far, weaving a tapestry of friendships through the airwaves. His hobbies were a reflection of his vibrant personality, always eager to share his passions with others.
Charles was a cherished father to his daughter, Tammy (Buddy) Hallett, and his son, Michael Carnes. He took immense pride in his grandchildren—Suzanne Gibson, Richard Gibson Jr., Brittney Gibson, and Zoey Hallett—who brought him immeasurable joy. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Jacob Gibson, Xavier Lilley, Caleb Gibson, Melodie Best, Dean Best, Mackenzy Bush, Madeline Tafe, Kaden Tafe, Klayton Gibson, and Emajean Gibson.
He is lovingly remembered by those who survive him, including his devoted daughter, son, cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but the love he shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Charles joins his beloved wife, Gloria Lazear, in eternal rest, along with his parents, Charles H. Lazear and Mabel V. Wright Lazear; brother, Harold "Sonny" Lazear; sisters, Carol Voytko, Dorothy "Dot" Gindlesperger, Linda Dickson, Shirley Heaton, and Dorothy Myers; and stepson, Frank Dickert. Each of these connections shaped him into the remarkable person he was.
