Carl B. Carmichael,
1920 – 2019
Alliance – Carl B. Carmichael, age 98 passed away at his home in Alliance, April 3, 2019. He was born July 14, 1920 in Glen Easton West Virginia to George and Alta Carmichael. Carl was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army Tank Corps. He had been employed as a maintenance man by Eljers of Salem, Transue & Williams Co. of Alliance, and Quaker City Foodliner of Beloit. He was a member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church of Beloit and a member of the Sebring VFW. Carl spent ten years supporting and camping with his sons in the boy scouts. He served as an assistant boy scout leader and board member. Carl spent many years working on the farm, he loved to garden and was no stranger to hard work. Carl was very proud of each car he owned and always kept them clean and in good running condition. Raising rabbits and feeding the birds were some of his pastimes.
Carl is survived by his bride of 74 years, Ruth (Burkhart) Carmichael, son Phillip (Georgina) Carmichael of Nevada, son Paul (Melinda) Carmichael of Alliance; granddaughters Tabitha Walker, Rachel Carmichael, Naomi Carmichael, Sarah Carmichael, Emily Carmichael; great grandchildren, Gabriel Carmichael, Christian Carmichael and Justus Carmichael.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers George and Cecil and his sister Edith (Carmichael) Crow.
Calling hours will be held at Dean’s Funeral Home in Sebring on Wednesday, April 10 from 5-7pm. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
