Billy C. Stephenson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend peacefully passed away on November 14 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Olive Hill on October 29, 1940, Billy devoted his life to serving others and spreading joy through his infectious laughter and kind spirit.

As a dedicated truck driver for Sanitary, Billy was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family. But beyond his career, he found immense joy in his hobbies. A devout member of the Alliance Freewill Baptist Church, he cherished the bonds he formed within his church family. Singing and music filled his heart with joy, and he often delighted those around him with his guitar and heartfelt tunes.

Billy's generosity knew no bounds; he was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for working on autos and tractors grew from a passion for mechanics, and he spent countless happy hours tinkering with his beloved 1965 Ford. In quieter moments, he enjoyed gardening, nurturing not only plants but also friendships that blossomed over shared stories and laughter.

Family was central to Billy's life. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen (Farnsworth) Stephenson, who was his steadfast partner through all of life's seasons. He is survived by his children: Dora, and sons Billy Jo (Donna), Eugene (Lilly), Brian, Kevin (Jodi), and Matt (Samantha). Billy's legacy continues with his multiple grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his love of storytelling and his gift for humor.

He is also remembered by his siblings Richard, Larry (Paula), Virginia "Sis" (Steve), and Betty, who cherished the memories they made together throughout their lives.

While Billy now joins his parents, Hermie and Eva, as well as his deceased daughters Carolyn and Lori, and brother Jess, his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. His love for Western movies, especially "Gun Smoke," and his penchant for telling jokes ensured that there was never a dull moment in his company.

Billy C. Stephenson was a remarkable man whose heart was as big as his passions. His willingness to help others, his love for family, and his infectious laughter will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
