Following his graduation from high school, Hoppy enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a naval aviator, as well as other special operations. He was honorably discharged from the armed forces and spent the rest of his career as a Quality Control Manager/Engineer for the American automotive industry. His duties often included traveling the country, as well as overseas, to provide training for new employees and affiliated consultants. He retired in 2010.
As a lifelong, die-hard Cleveland Browns football fan, one of Tony's favorite activities was watching the games on Sundays with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, cooking over campfires, swimming, enjoying time outside and listening to music. Lovingly referred to as "Big Buddy" by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and multiple other friends and family members, Hoppy will be forever missed by all those that experienced his orneriness, empathy, kindness and compassion.
No services are scheduled at this time; however, a Celebration of Life will be set up in the Spring with the date and time to follow.
