Anne Marie Bailey, 96, went home to the Lord at Bel Air Care Center in Alliance on September 27, 2023.
She was born on May 18, 1927. in Youngstown, Ohio, to Alex and Catherine Shasho. Anne married the love of her life, Joseph Bailey, after just a month-long courtship. Their marriage lasted 66 years.
She loved to watch TV with Joe while she crocheted and worked on crafts. Anne brought cheer to others as she gave hundreds of her creations to people in the Alliance area and beyond.
She was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother, and hostess. Her home was a place where the weary could feel welcomed and comfortable.
When she entered Bel Air, she had to leave her Sebring home of 50 years, but she gained a whole new family with Bel Air and Hospice staff members who lovingly knew her as Annie or Miss Anne.
Survivors include her daughters, Joann (Gary) Scott and Robyn (Keith) Zukas; sons, Joe (Kelly) Bailey and Gary (Cheryle) Bailey; son-in-law, Steve Felt; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Garreffa, Gerry Jewell, and Sandy Berry; and many treasured nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Anne is preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Felt; sisters, Martha Bowman, Vi Sobinovsky, Helen Weibel, Delores Leone, and Patsy Swedik; brothers, Michael Shasho, Charles Shasho, and Alex Shasho Jr.
Final arrangements are being entrusted to Dean’s Funeral Home of Sebring. A celebration of life service and a fellowship meal will be held on October 14th at 12:00 at the Atwater Town Hall on Route 183 in Atwater. Hospice Chaplain Freddie Rodriguez will be officiating.
